I dunno; they're making me do this 'job' thing, but I've never worked a job before, and all the fon tech around kind of freaked me out.

What did you do all day if you didn't...work before? Just...just hobbies?

Uh... well, after I was kidnapped as a kid and lost my memory, I was confined to the manor. That changed recently -- you know, the whole ambassador thing -- but before then, all I really had to do was try and remember things and work on my sword training.

[defensively:] I didn't say anything about that! Gods, like. What am I supposed to say to that sort of backstory? What do you want me to say?

...I don't really talk about it much for that reason, I guess.

No, but you said you basically don't want to talk about it, so like. What am I supposed to do about that?

This is why I don't talk to new people anymore! It's not like I can, like. Rely on the sensibilities at home because no one knows those rules anyway, so I get stuck talking blind until I inevitably mess up and then people are annoyed or mad or think I'm stupid or whatever.

Well, that's dumb. Just talk to people and stop being paranoid about what they think of you. Sheesh.

But seriously. There's no point in being uptight about how you talk to people. It just gets annoying, so just be yourself.

I don't know how far that advice will take me, especially coming from someone who told me not ten minutes ago that no one would hold a proper conversation with him?
